The question for the more knowledgable MESSDevs is this: for a very select number of console games, would a similar decapping project be effective (though possibly not worthwhile in most cases)? MG post another wip update!Īs we know, MAME has a companion to the Dumping Project, namely the Decapping project. I woke up on the wrong side of DST this week. I appreciate those who took the time to set it up. Is that a fixable option?Īlright end of complaining. That was a nice feature of the old Wip page. My only issue with the tracker is the bug # link to the svn ticket number not bugzilla. Looks nice.Ĭan we get a link to the the wiki from ? Same with the svn tracker? I do like what they have done with and mamewiki. I suppose I am missing something here.maybe for a huge project it would help keep things organized. The whole domain:page structure thing seems a little too formal for my taste. Change page has much less info than mediawiki. current page not any version vs any other version. You have to go to the specific page and look at old revisions. Probably the biggest is recent change page only shows last change of any particular page. I admit I don't love the wiki software, just a couple of things bug me. I even bid (and lost) on a old system from the page this week. Pasago - portable by Koei with carts based on famous Go tournaments, hard to find much info on this, not even sure about the year of release:īandai Telebiko - obscure VHS-based system, not sure about the year: Nintendo 64DD - 1999, disk add-on for the Nintendo 64. A follow-on, the Super Cassette Vision, has been emulated. figuring out what games still need to be dumped.īandai Supervision 8000 - first cartridge-based original Japanese system, from 1979, not related to the Watara SupervisionĮpoch Cassette Vision - 1981, Ian Knowles posted about having one, is it available for dumping? This was also updated as the Cassette Vision Jr. Later, the effort can be expanded to partially dumped systems, i.e. Some of these have already been mentioned on the Wiki, but I've got at least a bit more information. Then I can update the Wiki and send a list to Guru. My plan is to first run the list by the people here, in case it turns out something actually has been dumped, or something is missing. (The 64DD is an exception, since no ones knows how to dump it, but I'll include it for completeness.) In most cases, we'd probably need to find these to know how difficult dumping would be. I'll start out with a list of completely undumped consoles/portables released only in Japan. At least a couple of people have mentioned wanting to donate for MESS dumping, so this could be a good opportunity. Lately, I've been working on a list of undumped Japanese systems, with the intention of tracking some of these down with the help of Guru's Japanese contact. I know some FM Towns Marty games have been dumped and can be played in emulators, but does the entry means the real BIOS haven't been dumped? I'll try to add some more systems and more information when I get a chance. For some we'll need to clear up just what needs to be dumped. That's a good start with the dumping project page.
